Escuela Mediterraneo Barcelona collaborates with the Cervantes Institute (IC), the University of Barcelona (UB) and the International University Center of Barcelona (UNIBA) regarding the internships of its students in courses and masters dedicated to teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
The teachers of Escuela Mediterraneo Tandem Barcelona have tutored more than 100 trainee teachers.

I feel that online classes are very enriching and useful for my training as a teacher. Given the circumstances that we are going through due to the Covid-19 issue, but also due to the future needs to adapt to the digital area, I consider it important to have this approach to online classes since they allow integrating theoretical and practical knowledge from the world of teaching. through digital tools that have been innovative for me.

Regarding the group and the education process that I am observing, I notice a cozy and pleasant atmosphere, in which I feel very comfortable and at ease. In addition, being a multicultural group I feel that I have been able to learn different cultural elements that the students have shared with their classmates; This is one of the most interesting elements, in my opinion, in the teaching experience.
Tasks to be carried out by the internship teachers and the tutors in the online internships.
The internship teachers do various types of tasks during their internships in the online and in-person courses of Escuela Mediterraneo Tandem Barcelona:
- they watch the classes online live by videoconference;
- They collaborate in the class live by videoconference, carrying out tasks supervised by the teacher-tutor;
- design the scheduling of the sessions they are going to teach and
- they teach a number of sessions determined by the university or center where they are studying Spanish as a second language.
The teacher-tutor of the school:
- checks the programming made by the trainee teacher;
- introduces the trainee to the center’s online Spanish teaching methodology and the operation of online classes;
- monitors the design process of online programming carried out by the trainee teacher;
- observes the trainee in the live videoconferences and then do a feedback session to talk about its positive aspects and what could be improved in future sessions;
- produces a final internship report in which he evaluates the work of the trainee teacher and advises him on how to improve and develop his teaching skills

Being able to do the internship at the Mediterranean School was a very good opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. Organization of the trainee teachers of Escuela Mediterraneo Tandem Barcelona
Escuela Mediterraneo Barcelona organizes a meeting prior to the start of the internships with the students of the master’s degree at the University of Barcelona. In this meeting the headmasters of Escuela Mediterraneo Tandem Barcelona, explain to the trainee teachers how the school works and the methodology carried out in the classes of Spanish as a foreign language.
At the same time, the trainee teachers can express their level and schedule preferences, since Escuela Mediterraneo Tandem Barcelona has a schedule from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. along which 2-hour sessions are taught at different levels of language Spanish (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2).
The headmasters respect the preferences expressed by the internship teachers, taking into account factors such as the availability of tutors or the difficulty of the level at which they want to do the internships.
The internship teachers from the masters of the Instituto Cervantes and Uniba are received by their tutor at Escuela Mediterraneo Tandem Barcelona and are immediately integrated into the group-class in which they will carry out their internships.
Observing the school from the beginning gave me a positive feeling. In fact, from the first moment, the teachers seemed to be very welcoming, available and friendly and the atmosphere of the center in general is very positive.

During my stay at Escuela Mediterraneo Barcelona as a master student and a trainee teacher, the tutor in charge of monitoring my development and directing my learning during the internships, was constantly available, flexible and friendly, as well as capable and expert in her role as a teacher.
The fact that I felt so comfortable with the school, with the group of students and with my tutor greatly influenced my involvement during the stay in the school and the maintenance of a positive predisposition towards the internship; Because the tutor integrated me in the classroom from the beginning and the students positively accepted my presence as an observer and my performance as a teacher.
